Adeptus is a boutique, independent technology advisory firm, headquartered in Sydney, with an office in Brisbane and clients across Australia. We advise executive leaders and boards on hard technology decisions, from strategy through to delivery. When a client needs a single accountable lead, we take that role: leading the program and assembling the specialist consortia it needs.

Between them, our founders cover technology change end to end: strategy, architecture and investment assurance; program governance, delivery and commercial management. They have built and run technology businesses, held CIO and enterprise architecture roles, delivered some of Australia's largest cloud adoption programs, stood up organisation-wide data capabilities, retired systems considered too risky to touch, and uplifted mission-critical platforms in live operation. Whatever stage your program is at, we've run it, rescued it or reviewed it before. Every engagement is led by a founder.

Bernard Wright

Founder and Principal Advisor

Bernard is a technology strategy and architecture leader with three decades' experience across telecommunications, financial services, technology startups and government, in Australian, United States and United Kingdom markets.

His grounding is Silicon Valley during the internet's rapid growth: infrastructure engineering at Pacific Star, a Bell Atlantic-backed Australian telecommunications company; consulting to Charles Schwab as online share trading emerged; a consortium with Sun Microsystems and Cisco Systems that demonstrated large-scale internet streaming during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games; and early enterprise collaboration technology with Consilient, supporting BP in London. On returning to Australia, he held Chief Information Officer, ICT Director and Enterprise Architect roles, leading technology strategy, governance and major transformation programs.

Clients engage Bernard for independent judgement on high-value, high-risk technology decisions — technology investment and assurance, governance, enterprise architecture, procurement and business cases, with cloud, cyber security and AI within scope. His advice draws on having held executive accountability for the same class of decisions.

Daintree Peters

Founder and Principal Advisor

Daintree is a program and delivery leader with more than 25 years in complex technology change and the businesses behind it, across government, financial and professional services, health, media and telecommunications, retail and logistics, in Australian, UK, European, Asian and North American markets.

He worked in the UK at the start of the enterprise cloud era, delivering programs for organisations including the UK Parliament, the Home Office and WPP. In Australia he led the Google Cloud enterprise practice at Cloud Sherpas (now Accenture), including cloud adoption at Woolworths for more than 200,000 staff and at News Ltd across all its mastheads. He went on to build product businesses as a Director in PwC Australia's New Ventures unit, and was CEO of Assembler, a transformation platform business serving advisory firms and government.

Clients engage Daintree to lead delivery end to end: governance, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, requirements definition and commercial management, with outputs written for the committees and executives who have to act on them. He has twice led businesses from reselling technology to advising on it; Adeptus holds no product or reseller interests.
